Climatic Effect On Dinosaurs Extinction

Dinosaurs need warm climate for their metabolism to function properly. They are neither cold blooded like lizards nor warm blooded like mammals and birds.

They were mesotherms, a metabolic system between reptiles and mammals and needed a warm climate to maintain their temperature and thus perform basic biological functions.

This temperature decrease must have had a strong impact on them.

Study found that herbivores declined slightly before carnivores which probably led to decline of carnivores which in biological terms we call it as cascade extinction.
