Master your schedule

Most positions require one of two different working styles:

• The manager's schedule: This schedule is for bosses and consists of the traditional appointment book, divided into one-hour intervals.
• The maker's schedule: Writers, programmers, and designers block out usable chunks to stay productive. Days broken up can kill productivity.

Founders, entrepreneurs and CEOs are both makers and managers. They may split their day in two - one to work as a maker, and the other to work as a manager.
