How to detect if a website is a scam?
- Check if the website uses https and other secured encryptions.
You have to pay attention to sites which are not secure by the aid of your browser and if it does not start with https, then you are not safe.
- Pay attention to the address bar if you already know the given site.
Some phishing sites tend to be a lot similar to those of our official sites we always use but for your security, first look at the URL in the address bar. e.g: facabo0k.com =/= facebook.com
- Review the Company's Social Media Presence.
Much more legitimate companies must have their social media pages mentioned and verified.
