Viktor Emil Frankl M.D., Ph.D., was an Austrian neurologist and psychiatrist as well as a Holocaust survivor. Frankl was the founder of logotherapy, which is a form of Existential Analysis, the "Third Viennese School" of psychotherapy.His book Man's Search for Meaning (first published under a different title in 1959: From Death-Camp to Existentialism. Originally published in 1946 as Ein Psycholog erlebt das Konzentrationslager) chronicles his experiences as a concentration camp inmate and describes his psychotherapeutic method of finding meaning in all forms of existence, even the most sordid ones, and thus a reason to continue living. He was one of the key figures in existential therapy.

To have no other Gods before him. What does this truly mean? idols are most of the time a huge part of our life. We all have idols and we don’t even know it. We don’t even recognize the fact that we have multiple idols. An Xbox can be an idol. When the commandment says no other Gods, the Lord doesn’t just mean gods as in lords. But he also means anything that you put before him that’s not him can serve as a idol or a “god” in your life. Be careful, one way that you can keep this from happening, is that you can have a constant prayer life to keep in check your idols and gods.

1. No Other Gods

God doesn’t want you to have the possibility to worship a statue or anything that you think can resemble anything of his likeness. He doesn’t want you to worship an idol, he wants you to worship him. You don’t need anything to worship God. All you need is him, and he wants it to be this way. So it’s him and him alone. A good way to apply this to your life is to simply follow it. Don’t make anything that you think could be God and definitely if you do. Don’t worship it for that could serve as a “god” or an “idol” in the process.

2. None of Image & Likeness

Would you like it if someone else used your name almost like a cuss word? The Lord does not like it when someone uses his name in vain.one way you can apply this to your life is by watching the words that you say. Removing these words that we use in a vulgar manner can be appropriate and useful. It brings a certain class to your life.

3. Name In Vain

I accidentally left this out. Truly I didn’t mean to on the original release. What is the sabbath? Exodus‬ ‭20‬:‭9‬-‭10‬ says this. “Six days you shall labor, and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates.” Sadly this commandment is misunderstood most of the time. At first I over read it and I did not fully understand it. It’s important to keep the sabbath holy. God did say such.

4. Day of The Sabbath

To honor your Mother and Father. To respect and hold true to biblical values that your parents are always ahead of you. Respect them with all your heart and honor them for they brought you into this world. Most of the time they can take you out too. God will honor and bless you if your honor your mother and father.

6. Shall Not Murder

One of the biggest things that is simply infecting this generation and truly has been slowly moving into this world is lust. Lust is one of the biggest problems that we face in this day and age. Adultery is simply lusting while married or lusting over someone who is also married. You don’t even have to actually do the deed to commit the sin. Simply just thinking and lusting over it in your thoughts is committing the sin as well. Here is a verse that backs what I said.”But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart.”

7. Adultery

This is another Commandment that is based around morality. Right and Wrong. What makes it wrong to kill or steal someone or something? There is a sense of right and wrong. This in itself shows that God exists and he is very real. would you like it if someone came and just took something that you saved up for and bought with your own money? No. So don’t steal, treat your neighbor as you want to be treated.

8. Do Not Steal

Would you want your neighbor to lie and say that you did something that you actually did not do? I don’t think so. so don’t lie about your neighbor and their deeds. Keep everything to yourself. We as humans and Christians are not supposed to assume and tell fake truths.

9. False Witness

Covet means to want to possess something. So in this verse when he says not to “covet” he means for you not to want or be jealous of what your neighbors have. Be thankful for the stuff that you have. one way to apply this to your life is to look at what you have and take the time and just appreciate all of your belongings. You may have something that your neighbors may not have.

The Ten Commandments are here for a reason. We all need to read them and apply them in our day to day lives. They are important and not to be left alone. They are to be read and exorcise in our life. This morning began with clarity: “Stay in your lane.” It was the thought that formed as I prepared to open my eyes, and it wasn’t just about sticking to my goals but a gentle reminder to trust God’s timing and let go of distractions and fleeting emotions. As I reached for my phone to mark my to-do list, I “accidentally” opened my photo app. The first image I saw said, “Your discipline may be a joke to them now, but your results will silence them.” I smiled—it felt like God was affirming my path, nudging me to stay the course I’ve chosen.

Stay in Your Lane

Moments later, another image appeared: “One of the most important skills is having the courage to walk away from people who disrespect you or simply aren’t good for you.” I laughed—it felt like God was giving me not just a to-do list but a not-to-do list. These reminders brought to mind the relationships I’ve walked away from—not in anger or bitterness, but in peace. Following God’s path often means choosing love and leaving behind conflict and disrespect.

God’s Not-To-Do List

Aligning with God’s calling disrupts old patterns. We stop enabling unhealthy dynamics, participating in what dishonors Him, or tolerating disrespect. For some, these changes feel like rejection or a loss of control, but that’s not what it is. As we grow in emotional intelligence, we recognize these patterns for what they are. Emotional regulation teaches us to pause, reflect, and respond thoughtfully rather than reacting impulsively. Breaking free requires self-awareness and discipline, even when it disrupts others’ expectations.

Breaking Old Patterns

Emotional maturity is essential when walking in alignment with God. Psychology defines emotional regulation as the ability to pause, reflect, and respond thoughtfully rather than reacting impulsively. This self-discipline requires self-awareness to recognize emotions and patterns, as well as the courage to act with intention.

Emotional Maturity in Action

The aforementioned “shift” to alignment isn’t about others—it’s about obedience to God’s calling. By choosing integrity and alignment with our Higher Power, we naturally disrupt the dynamics that once gave others access to manipulate or control us. This can lead to frustration or even hurt on their part, though they may not realize their pain comes from unmet expectations, entitlement, or unresolved emotions. Emotional regulation, rooted in faith and discernment, helps us choose love, integrity, and peace, even in difficult moments.

A Shift in Perspective

You have power over your mind—not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength.

Here’s the truth: holding a grudge only hurts the person holding it. Bitterness is a heavy burden, robbing the heart of peace and joy. As believers, we’re called to release those burdens—both our own grudges and those held against us—so we can walk in freedom. Paul reminds us in Ephesians 4:31-32 to let go of “all bitterness, rage, and anger” and instead to “forgive each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” True freedom comes in releasing and forgiving, not holding onto bitterness.

Releasing Bitterness

When others hold grudges against us, it often stems from their own struggles. They may cling to control, feel rejected, or resent losing access to unaligned parts of us. But their pain isn’t ours to fix. Even Jesus experienced this—He walked in perfect love and yet was misunderstood, rejected, and resented by those who wouldn’t let go of their sin or expectations. Romans 12:17 reminds us, “Do not repay anyone evil for evil.” Emotional maturity means rising above, reflecting Christ’s love, and releasing the need to defend ourselves or fix others’ feelings.

When Others Hold Grudges

Walking in alignment with God’s calling requires trust—not only in His timing but in the process of letting go. When we release bitterness and resentment, we make room for peace. As we align with His plan, others may struggle to understand or even resist our growth. Still, we are called to live with integrity, discipline, and love, no matter how others respond. In Galatians 6:9, Paul encourages us: “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

Trust the Process

Bitterness and grudges weigh down the heart, but forgiveness brings freedom. This doesn’t mean we ignore the pain caused by others—it means we choose to rise above it. Jesus modeled this perfectly, forgiving even those who crucified Him, saying, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing” (Luke 23:34). Forgiveness doesn’t mean excusing behavior; it means surrendering the burden of anger and trusting God to bring justice in His time.

The Power of Forgiveness

This journey of faith, emotional regulation, and forgiveness isn’t about perfection—it’s about obedience. By pausing, reflecting, and surrendering our emotions to God, we develop the strength to respond with love instead of reacting in frustration. As Proverbs 4:23 says, “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” When we guard our hearts with God’s truth, we can walk in peace, trusting His plan for us.
